Featured a few months back in the Altus Times “Someone you should know” feature, Jim Brown shows to what links a parent of a senior Bulldog will go to when his cup of pride overflows. Jim’s son Daniel, better yet, Daniel’s dad, Jim is the proud pop of Daniel Brown. At press time, Daniel had just helped his Bulldog teammates by winning the State Championship in the medley relay event for the second straight year while setting a new state record.

The Altus High School Bulldog swimmers are in the Jenks Aquatic Center this weekend. They are claiming more gold for the high school trophy case.

They are taking things to an all new state record level in the process. As my deadline put an end to new news in this edition, the Bulldog boys’ 4 x 100m medley relay team had just set a new state record as they claimed the State Championship in back to back seasons.

The old mark of 141:00 set in 2010 by that year’s Altus team was trumped by the 2016 team with a time of 139:91.

Congratulations Bulldogs!!
