Alright Bulldog fans – here it is: Tonight inside Cletus B. Street Fieldhouse, the 2015-2016 Bulldogs will debut their new game under the guidance of first year coach, Nathan Pennypacker.
Although he hasn’t had his full array of athletes available for very long due to the whole State Championship in football thing, Pennypacker is looking to bring an exciting game to the court.
“We haven’t been together for long,” said Coach Pennypacker, “and some of the boys don’t have their legs under them just yet. Because of that I will want to rotate several of the kids often. Of course, without some game action, it’s hard to get a clear picture of exactly what we have. I’m looking for some energy and a high pressure pace on both ends. Defensively we will need to keep #3 from Elgin in check as best we can. He can score in bunches quickly.”
Pennypacker’s lineup is of course subject to change if he wants it to, but as of press time, Hassan Foye, Keegan Shive, Dion Robinson, Jacob Cope and Jayden Benway will be on the floor for the 6:30 p.m. tip-off.
Look for the Bulldogs to man up on defense and on offense they will need to find a way throught the Elgin Owls’ zone.
“We need to put some excitement into the gym,” said Pennypacker. “We need to give the fans a reason to come watch us.”
The Bulldogs are at home tonight vs. Elgin at 6:30 p.m. and will host Burkburnett tomorrow night at 6 p.m.
