It’s game day! The Guthrie Bluejays are coming to town. They plan on leaving here in a good mood, but the Altus Bulldogs intend on sending them home disappointed.
The playoff game is set for 7:30 p.m. at Hightower Memorial Stadium.
Festivities will begin early with a pep rally at 2 p.m., followed by “Welcome to A-Town” tailgate party at 5 p.m.,hosted by the 12th Man Club. The tailgate party will be held on southwest corner of the Altus High School parking lot.
The ticket booths will open at 5:30 p.m. (There may already be people in line at the gates.) The line will be long and slow going. You may still be able to get them early at the AHS athletic office. They are open until 4 p.m. today.
When the gates open, seating will be on a first come basis. Although the stadium seats 5,000, extra bleachers have been put in place in the south end zone.
The Bulldogs are in position to take this buzz we hear around town and push the decibel level through the roof. A win puts us over the hump into legitimate contender. It’s a hurdle we need to jump.
