Blair grad qualifies for high school rodeo finals

William Freeland, a recent Blair graduate has qualified for the National High School Finals Rodeo in Bareback competition. Freeland has earned a position with Oklahoma’s Provincial National Rodeo Team and will join his teammates as they head to Rock Springs, Wyoming for the world’s largest rodeo July 12-18.

The rodeo features more than 1500 contestants from 42 states, five Canadian Provinces and Australia. In addition to competing for more than $200,000 in prizes, NHSFR contestants will also be competing for more than $350,000 in scholarships and a chance to be named an NHSFR National Champion.

To earn this title, contestants must finish in the top 20 – based on their combined times/scores in the first two rounds – to advance to Saturday’s final round.

The Saturday final will be televised nationally on RFD-TV. Live broadcasts of each NHSFR performance will be streamed on NHSRATV.com. Performances will begin at 7 p.m starting the 12th of July and 7p.m. Each evening through the
