OKLAHOMA CITY — Willie Calhoun hit a walk-off solo homer with one out in the ninth inning, as the Oklahoma City Dodgers defeated the Sacramento River Cats 3-2 on Wednesday.
After Sacramento crossed the plate for two runs in the first inning, Oklahoma City tied the game 2-2 after Trayce Thompson hit a solo home run in the fourth inning and Darnell Sweeney scored on an error in the fifth.
In a classic pitchers’ duel, Oklalahoma City’s Justin Masterson and Sacramento’s Tyler Beede delivered great starts. Masterson went six innings, allowing two runs and six hits while striking out seven. Beede went seven innings, allowing two runs and six hits. He also struck out four and walked one.
Josh Ravin (1-0) got the win with two innings of scoreless, one-hit relief while Matt Reynolds (2-1) took the loss in the Pacific Coast League game.
Calhoun homered and singled in the win.
Carlos Moncrief doubled twice and singled for the River Cats.
