The Altus Bulldogs are on the road next Friday to Vernon, Texas for a 7:30 p.m. football game. The scrimmages are over. The cat and mouse games of using the scrimmages to prepare, while at the same time trying not to give schools like Lawton Mac and Duncan much to scout, are over.

It’s time for the official week to get prepared, and for game planning to commence. The coaches, and many of the Bulldogs, drove down to Vernon a couple of weeks ago to catch a glimpse of a Vernon scrimmage. After talking to Coach Reed about that scouting trip, the staff is confident that the Bulldogs will be ready to take on the Lions next Friday.

Vernon will actually already have a game under their belt when they go head-to-head with the Bulldogs next week. Vernon is hosting Graham tonight.

Last night’s scrimmage for the Bulldogs (originally set for tonight with Frederick and Elgin) was held in Cameron Stadium against Lawton High. Lawton is ranked at #5 in class 6A-II. They are very big, fast and have a serious air attack. The Bulldogs held their own, but more importantly, avoided any serious injuries.

Here we go people. It’s time to make travel plans to go to Vernon next Friday.

GO BULLDOGS !!
