“It’s so much better when we’re together, let’s go have a ball!” sings Brendan Parker from the duo known as Spaghetti Eddie! With Todd Parsons on drums, they play family friendly songs from the album “Spaghetti Eddie! and Other Children’s Song” and their new album “Spaghetti Eddie! and Other Children’s Songs Vol. 2”. The topics range from colors and outer space to days of the week and months of the year! The songs will have your little ones moving, singing have having fun.

They are quickly building a following in Oklahoma and plan on getting more fans with every performance, so catch them when you can and you can catch them right here at the Altus Public Library Thursday, June 20 at 2 p.m. Get here early for a great seat to hear this new and exciting duo at the library. The Altus School District Board of Education held a special meeting on Tuesday, June 18, in the Conference Room of the Administrative Building to consider resignations, reassignments, and new hire temporary contracts for FY 2013-2014.

The Board approved resignations of certified personnel including Sonya Parsons - Librarian at Roosevelt, Washington, and Will Rogers Elementary Schools, effective May 24, Listena Prickett - English at Altus Junior High, May 24, Deedee Stafford - Math Teacher at Altus High School, May 24, and Carol Walker - Business at Altus High School, May 24.

The Board approved reassignments with change in salary including certified personnel Amanda Davis from Gifted & Talented at Altus Intermediate School to Public Relations Director for the District, effective July 1, and Kaylee Thornbrough from Title at Altus Intermediate School to Librarian at Roosevelt,Washington, and Will Rogers, Aug. 7. They also approved a time sheet for Gena Moser for Relay For Life.

The Board also approved new hire temporary contracts for the 2013-14 school year including certified personnel Eric Bradley - Health/P.E. at Altus Junior High, effective Aug. 7, Donita Hodge - Elementary at Rivers Elementary, Aug. 7, Sheila Miranda - Elementary Teacher a Rivers, Aug. 7, Brandi Manning - English Teacher at Altus High School, Aug. 7, Donna McCombs - Pre-K Teacher at Sunset, Aug. 7, and Patience Newsom - Special Ed. Teacher at Washington, Aug. 7.
