Mangum man falls asleep at the wheel, wrecks
John Brinkman, 69, of Mangum, was taken by AirEvac to the OU Medical Center in after an early morning accident on Saturday. According to reports from the Highway Patrol, Brinkman was driving a 2004 Lincoln Town Car on US 283 1.7 miles east of Mangum when the accident occurred. The Altus High Bulldogs brought out the big bats on the first day of the Class 5A Regional Baseball Tournament at Midwest City Carl Albert. Shortly before midnight Sunday, April 28, a personal injury collision happened on old US 62 4/10 of a mile west of CR 2310 in Kiowa County.
