Railroad crossing north of Blair closed May 17
Jackson County Commissioner Marty Clinton has reported that the railroad crossing west of Highway 283 at CR 153 will be closed tomorrow, May 17, for about six to eight hours for construction. This is located about one mile north of Blair.

Shooting suspect sought for injuring local Altus man
Altus Police Department received a call 9:39 p.m. Saturday, May 12, from a South Carolina resident. That person had gotten a call from someone about a shooting at SW Metal Trade at 1100 W. USPS keeps rural post offices open, cuts hours

Arrests were made on three local men for distributing controlled dangerous substances (CDS) or soliciting a person under 18 to distribute CDS. Armando Lopez Abila, 44, was arrested on two counts and held for $50,000 bail for each count. Woman dies in two-vehicle accident south of Altus
A fatality accident occurred at approximately 5:37 p.m. Wednesday on SH 5 about one mile east of US Hwy 283 in Jackson County.
