Top 10 AHS Seniors Named

Daniela Lopez

Daniela Lopez, daughter of Salomon and Maria Lopez, is a member of the Student Council, Link Crew, National Honor Society, K.A.Y. club, and Girls Varsity Soccer Team. She has played soccer for four years. She also has held officer positions in Student Council for three years and National Honor Society for two years. Daniela has lettered in academics and sports. She has been on the Superintendent’s Honor Roll and a member of Oklahoma’s National Honor Society for three years. She worked at Roma’s Italian Restaurant as a waitress for two years. Daniela plans to pursue a major in pre-dentistry at the University of Oklahoma and later attend OU’s Dental School to become a Family Dentist.

Cody Sirk

Cody Sirk is the son of Phillip and EeSirk. Cody’s future plans are to attend the University of Oklahoma, march in the Pride of Oklahoma, and pursue a career as a family practitioner in the medical field. Cody is in National Honor Society, academic team, and That Altus Band. Cody has received numerous honors throughout his high school career including Superintendent’s Honor Roll, Superior ratings at district and state level at OSSAA Solo and Ensemble contests, Louis Armstrong Jazz Award for the past two years, five-year member of the SWODBA Honor Bands, and OMEA All-State Jazz Ensemble Bari Sax. Cody enjoys playing his saxophone in band and outside of band. His hobbies include recording jazz or classical pieces or improvising at his house. Cody’s favorite teachers are Mrs. Runyan, Mrs. Hastings, Mr. Delao, and Mrs. Pellam.

Hannah Elizabeth Henry

Hannah Elizabeth Henry, daughter of Rick and Mary Beth Henry, is the senior class president, secretary of the National Honor Society, member of student council, and community service chair of Altus Teens Interact. She has been in show choir for three years and on the AHS dance team for four years, two of which were spent as captain. Hannah has been on the Superintendent’s Honor Roll for four years. Her favorite classes are AP Government and AP English. She attended Girls State and Youth Leadership of Oklahoma this past summer. Hannah plans to attend the University of Oklahoma to work towards a degree in dentistry. She is a member of the First United Methodist Church youth group. Hannah has been taking dance class for 15 years at Off the Wall Dance Productions. In her spare time, Hannah enjoys reading, watching movies, and spending time with her friends and family.

Darbi Latham

Darbi Latham, daughter of Dale and Tricia Latham, is a member of student council, serving as class president her sophomore and junior years and as student body president her senior year. She has been a member of National Honor Society for three years and served as treasurer for 2013. Darbi has served as president of the Art Club and has had her artwork published in the Altus Public Schools calendar for the past five years. She has won multiple art awards and competed in many art contests. Darbi attended Girls State in June 2012. She has been a member of K.A.Y. Club, serving as treasurer. She was named Junior Rotarian and received the Top Dog award, and she has been on the superintendent’s honor roll every semester. Darbi plans on attending Oklahoma State University, where she will major in chemistry. Her goal is to attend medical school and become a dermatologist.

Hannah Kelley

Hannah Kelley is the daughter of Toby and Elisa Kelley and the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Perkins, Jr. Hannah is a member of Link Crew, the National Honor Society, and K.A.Y. Club. She has been a cheerleader for four years and was named a UCA All-American Cheerleader. She has been on the Superintendent’s Honor Roll for three years and has participated in tennis. Hannah is a member of the First Baptist Church of Altus, where she is active in the youth group. She plans to attend Southwestern Oklahoma State University, where she will major in health information management.

Caleb Crawford

Caleb Crawford is the son of Craig and Kathe Crawford and the grandson of Lee Roy and Melba Crawford and Billy and Maurice Searcey. Caleb has attended Altus High School for four years. He is a member of National Honor Society, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and the Future Farmers of America. He has played on the varsity golf team and the FFA sporting clays team. He was named a Junior Rotarian of the month and has been on the Superintendent’s Honor Roll every year. Caleb is a member of First Baptist Church and enjoys being involved in the youth group. Caleb loves his teachers because, he said, “they make challenging subjects simple to understand.” One of Caleb’s greatest achievements has been being named a National Merit Scholar Finalist. Caleb plans to attend the University of Oklahoma and pursue a career in Engineering.

David Gage Jones

David Gage Jones is the son of David Jones and Danielle Jones. He has three younger brothers, Tyler, a sophomore, Gavin, a seventh grader, and baby Bradley. Gage plans to attend the University of Oklahoma in Norman to major in petroleum engineering. His expenses will be paid by various academic scholarships. During his tenure at Altus High School, Gage has maintained a 4.0 grade point average, taking many AP classes. He is also concurrently enrolled at Western Oklahoma State College. Gage is a member of National Honor Society and has played baseball since the seventh grade. Gage is active in the community through NHS and other community service opportunities, giving back as much as he can to Altus.

Abigail Evans

Abigail Evans is the daughter of Jered and Tiffany Evans, granddaughter of Shirlee Nicholson and Barbara Evans, and older sister of Hannah and Benjamin Evans. Abigail has attended Altus public schools for seven years. She is a member of the National Honor Society, Altus Interact Club, Link Crew, and the Band Council. She has been in That Altus Band for four years and has played Clarinet in band for seven years. This year she is one of the Clarinet section Leaders. Abigail has participated in Track and Cross-Country for six years. Her favorite teachers at the high school are Ms. Pellam, Mrs. Shurley, Mr. Powers, Mrs. Campbell, and the band director, Mrs. Runyan. Abigail plans to attend college in hopes of becoming an Engineer.

Carley Graham

Carley Graham, daughter of Mickey and Gayla Graham and granddaughter of Carroll Graham, participated in National Honor Society, Link Crew, the Collar Newspaper staff, Students Working Against Tobacco, and Student Council, and was President of K.A.Y. Klub. Carley was an Altus High School cheerleader during her freshman and sophomore years and a member of the Varsity Soccer team her senior year. Carley has been on the Superintendent’s Honor Roll for all of her school years and has maintained a 4.0 GPA. While in high school, Carley attended WOSC during her junior and senior years and participated in three musical productions. Carley is an active member of the First United Methodist Church Youth group where she has participated in mission activities. She has worked as a church nursery worker and pre-school teacher for three years. Carley plans to attend Oklahoma State University and major in Human Development and Family Sciences.

Logan Webb

Logan Webb is the son of David and Tammy Webb and the grandson of Kenneth and Jean Burkhalter, Mangum, and Dave and Myrna Meyer, Edmond. Logan is a member of Varsity Chorale and treasurer of the Altus High School Art Club. He was a member of the 2012 Southwest Oklahoma All-Region Honor Choir and was an alternate for the 2013 Oklahoma All-State Choir. He was Junior Rotarian and has been on the Superintendent’s Honor Roll for four years. Logan’s favorite classes at AHS were Mrs. Pellam’s AP English class, Mrs. Ray’s Varsity Chorale class, Mrs. Shurley’s AP Calculus class, and Mr. Avila’s advanced portfolio and studio art classes. Logan has worked at Bunker Hill Pharmacy since June 2011. After graduation, Logan plans to attend the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma in Chickasha, where he will pursue a degree in Fine Art before beginning a career in graphic design.
