Jo and Dean Goodfellow recently erected a cross in their yard to bring attention to the true meaning of Easter. “We worship a risen God,” said the Goodfellows. Dean, pastor of the Russell Baptist Church, also posted a smaller white cross in their Flamingo Drive yard. Before sunrise on Sunday, the Goodfellows will turn the white cross around to reveal the words “He Has Risen.” The cross is topped with a crown of thornes and is draped in royal purple to represent the Bible passage, “The soldiers twisted together a crown of thorns and put it on his head. They clothed him in a purple robe.” - Matthew 27:28-29
