Pioneeers sent off in style to NJCAA World Series

The Western campus turned out in force Thursday May 24 to send the Pioneer baseball team off in style to the NJCAA World Series in Enid this weekend. Members of the Western Alumni Board prepared snack bags for the players to enjoy on their trip. Larry Duffy, Vice President for Development gives Erlin Santos a bag and wishes him well. Kaycee Lookingbill, Lora Lea Pickering and Haley Thompson assist in distributing to the other players. Esteban Paula displays a t-shirt emblazoned with the Western team slogan. 2012 marks the fifth return to the series for the Pioneers after winning the Region II World Series title in 2011. Western will play game 4 on Saturday, May 26 against Grand Rapids at 7 p.m. at David Allen Memorial Ballpark in Enid. See related story in the Sports section.
