The Altus Cato store at 2308 N. Main hadn’t planned to open a drive through portion in their store, but a recent vehicular accident made one anyway. The staff made lemonade out of their lemons by donating items that were effected by the debris to needy girls and women in Olustee and to the Oklahoma Baptist’s Home for Girls.
Volunteers from Martha Road Baptist Church took 12 bags of clothing items with up to 25 items per bag. They took them home to clean and dry these items for the girls at the Oklahoma Baptist’s Home for Girls in Madill. In addition to the clothing from Cato, church members donated towels, bedding and toiletries for the Girls’ Home.
Cato’s accident happened at the beginning of the Mother’s Day weekend, which kept customers from purchasing items for some favorite ladies in their lives. Cato manager, Alice Moon was happy no one was injured in the incident. Now the reconstruction is finished and the store is open normal business hours, Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday 1 to 6 p.m. Cato receives a truck with over 200 new items every week, so their loyal customers know to come and check out the newest merchandise. Cato carries clothing for girls sized 7 through 18, Jr. Missy, Misses, and Plus Sizes.
