According to Terri Pearson, the new Administrator of Plantation Village Nursing Center, two of the center’s Certified Nurses Assistants (CNAs) will be going to the NAHCA Conference in Oklahoma City. Pearson is very impressed with these two young ladies and their professionalism. Jessica Miller and Paige Cyr show a dedication to their patients that one ususally sees in professionals with thirty-five years’ experience, Pearson remarked.
Cyr is energetic and on-the-ball about answering the call-lights of her patients. “She has an urgency about providing help,” Pearson said. It’s a quality Pearson has dubbed “serving with urgency”. That kind of dedication is an important part of the new movement in longterm care.
Miller is calm and steady, influencing her patients with a kind and professional manner that carries over to the other staff members. Both Cyr and Miller will be bringing back information to the other CNAs as part of the mentoring program activities. This mentoring is part of the Focus on Excellence for longterm care facilities.
