Did you know that approximately 1.2 million pennies are thrown away each year? This amounts to $12,000 annually. Imagine how much additional money is wasted through nickels, dimes and quarters that are tossed, lost or unused.

With that in mind, we are hoping that you can help Sheridan’s Sunshine Foundation in our mission to collect coins for childhood cancer research. Every penny counts towards making a difference, and with your help, our simple efforts will raise important funds for childhood cancer research. All coins collected will be donated to CureSearch for Children’s cancer through Sheridan’s Sunshine Foundation.

The Coins for Cancer Campaign is being held throughout the month of February and collection jars will be located at the following location in Altus and Blair. In Altus: Robert’s Drive Inn, Kwik Kar Oil & Lube, La Plaza Restaurant, Aracelis Restaurant, Pedal Pushers, Brewers Discount Auto Supply, Les Lambert Heating & Air, The Blossom Shop, Val’s Restaurant, Off the Wall Dance Studio, Bunker Hill Pharmacy, Luigi’s and Fred’s Restaurant. In Blair at Luigi’s.

We can all help continue Sheridan’s mission to find a cure for all childhood cancers by donating coins that we likely may never use. Please look in your car consoles, coat pockets and in between your couch cushions to help fill the containers with coins! This small act can result in big, meaningful change! Thank you for helping to make a difference.
