The Jackson County Commissioners held a regular meeting on Tuesday, October 9, at 10 a.m., instead of on Monday, due to the Columbus Day holiday.

The Commissioners approved minutes from last two meetings on Friday, Sept. 28 and Monday, Oct. 1 with minor changes.

The approved reports from the Election Board, Court Clerk’s Office, The DA’s Bogus Check Division and an amended report from the Court Clerk’s Office for August.

There were no Officers reports.

Blanket purchase orders were received from and approved for the Health Department.

The commissioners were considering a lease proposal from Advantage Office Products. They will review this again at their next meeting because they need an networkable copier.

During the visit from the State Auditor’s Office, they’d recommended that a quarterly report on Sales Tax receipts be presented, not only to the Facilities Authority, but also the Commissioners. Though they are the same people on both boards, Treasurer Renee Howard presented this quarterly report to the Board of Commissioners.

The publication of the Commissioner’s Proceedings for the month of September was approved.

The commissioners approved the application for a Reap Grant with Resolution 2012-39 for the Warren Fire Department to apply for $100,000 to build new fire station.

Another Reap Grant with Resolution 2012-40, was approved for the Rural Fire Chiefs Task Force. This is for a Wildfire Trailer with necessary accessories. The total for their grant would be $12,081.50 with a the Task Force contributing a matching fund of $1,371.

There was no new business and the claims were approved before the adjournment.
