It was a big offensive day for the Western Oklahoma State College Pioneers who swept a doubleheader from Northwestern here on Friday afternoon.

The Pioneers defeated Northwestern 14-1 in the first game and12-2 in the nightcap.

In the first game it was like a Randy Joung highlight film.

Joung racked up six RBIs on three hits for all of which were home runs. He homered in the first, third, and fourth innings.

The Pioneers blew out NWOSU thanks to nine hits, including six extra base hits. Western’s biggest inning was the five when they scored seven runs on an error, an RBI single by Allen, a walk by Joung, and a home run by Clemente Para. Allen also had a home run in the game.

Kevin Torres recorded the win for Western Oklahoma St. Pioneers. He pitched two shutout innings, striking out five, walking none and gave up no hits.

Along with Joung, Allen also had three hits which included a double and two runs batted in.

In the second game a seven-run explosion in the first inning carried the Pioneers to a 12-2 win in six innings over NWOSU at Altus on Friday.

Fraylin Paez collected three RBIs on three hits for Western . He doubled in the first inning, singled in the second inning, and homered in the sixth inning.

Western piled on two more runs in the bottom of the sixth. A solo home run by Alvardo ignited the offense,. That was followed up by Paez’s solo blast.

Six Western pitchers including Felix Frias, Jared Cook, Alex Polanco, Victor Mendez, Aneuris Rodrgiuez and Jessue Alvarado held Northwestern combined for a three hitter and 12 strike outs.

Western is 15-2 on the season. They traveled to Alva on Saturday for another doubleheader with Northwestern. On Tuesday, they journey to Vernon for a 2 p.m. single game
