ALTUS – This holiday season Operation Homefront continues its tradition with the third annual toy distribution event for military families in Oklahoma. This is the first year for the toy drive and distribution in Arkansas. Six distribution events will take place across the two states this year.

Operation Homefront, along with supporters such as Verizon Wireless, will provide items such as stocking stuffers, toys, gift cards and food donations to assist military families this holiday season.

“The annual toy distribution event allows Operation Homefront a chance to help alleviate some of the financial stress for our military families during the holiday season,” said Carol Herrick, director of Operation Homefront Oklahoma/Arkansas. “Having the continued support of Verizon Wireless, and other generous sponsors, at many of our events allows us to provide more to deserving military families.”

This Friday, at Balfour Community Center in Altus, military parents will have the opportunity to fill a bag with gifts for each of their children to give to them this holiday season. The event will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Additionally, the local community can show their support for Operation Homefront by texting HONOR to 90999 or visiting http://www.operationhomefront.net/donate.aspx.
