Call after call starting coming into Altus Police from the East Liveoak area. In total, there were six calls from East Liveoak, one on South Julian, one on Walnut and another on East Curtis Street.
“There may be other calls come in, but as of right now, we have had nine auto burglaries reported,” said Assistant Chief of Police Mike Turner at 9 a.m. today.
Turner said that at 4:51 a.m. today, a shoplifting call came in from the Stripes Convenience Store at 700 E. Broadway.
A junvenile female was taken into custody, not only for shoplifting, but in connection with the auto burglaries. Arrested was Joel Shelton, 20, on burglary. Shelton may also face other charges.
Turner said the auto burglaries are still under investigation.
