The Jackson County 4-H Rockin’ Rabbit Club will be hosting Jackson County’s first ever 4-H/youth rabbit show. This event will take place Saturday, Feb. 16 starting at 8:30 a.m. at the Jackson Co. Expo Center. The morning activities start at 9 a.m.

There will be a Rabbit Fun Quiz to test the children’s knowledge of rabbits. For those that at just a little crafty they can enter items in the Rockin’ Animal Craft Contest. A Rockin’ Rabbit Club member will be holding a rabbit showmanship clinic before the actual showmanship contest. The Rockin’ Rabbit Club will have some rabbits available that can be used to learn about rabbit showmanship and to compete in the showmanship contest, if a youth would like to try their hand at showmanship. Any youth wanting to participate in these activities can come on out to the Expo Center.

There will be a raffle at the show to help raise money for the club. It has several cool items available with a few of the items donated by local merchants. Tractor Supply of Lawton donated a complete hutch set to help a child get their 4-H rabbit project started. Advantage Office Supply donated two backpacks and flashcards to help a child out with school.

The highlight of the day is the rabbit show starting at 1 p.m. The judge for this event is Annie Davis from Hitchcock. All breeds are welcome. If you don’t know what breed your rabbit is bring it out anyway.
