The Coffee Cup Bunch of the Friends of the Library held “An Interview with the Cowardly Lion,” Wednesday. The event was conducted by Jennie Buchanan, with pianist Clark Huey accompanying performing artist Daniel Yates as the Cowardly Lion. Telling the account of The Wizard of Oz, Yates performed “If I Only Had the Nerve,” “King of the Forest,” and “We’re Off to See the Wizard, the Wonderful Wizard of Oz.” After going to Emerald City to meet the man behind the curtain, the Cowardly Lion received a metal for his bravery in obtaining the Wicked Witch’s broomstick and returning it to Oz, played by Phil Willey.
