The Altus High Bulldogs won 11 of 14 matches to blow out the Weatherford Eagles 56-15 in a wrestling match here on Monday night.

Six of the 11 wins came on falls and there was one technical fall.

Tristan Cortez opened the festivities by pinning Weatherford’s Alfredo Delgado in the 106 pound match.

Other falls came from Mikie Abuan (138) Shannon Ybarra (145), Jordan Nash (160), Carlos Pantoja (182) and Isaiah Soliz (285).

Cameron Loving won by technical fall (15-0) over Josh Pankratz.

One of the more competitive matches of the evening was at 120 with Altus’ Montorie Bridges wrestling Raul Vasquez.

Bridges jumped on top in the second period 3-0 via an escape and a take down. Vasquez rallied in the third period but Bridges recorded a 3-2 victory.

Tyler Marple gave the Bulldogs another win in the 132 bout against Weatherford’s Aldo Ramos. It was 2-2 but Marple scored on a reverse and a near fall in the final period to defeat Ramos 7-2.

In the 195 pound match Altus’ Sean Carson defeated Jacob Hoffman 5-1.

At 113 Jamie Craig of Altus won by forfeit.

Bulldog notes: Altus wrestled Monday night without 160 pounder Keilan Torres. Torres, a two time state champion who recently gave a verbal commitment to Oklahoma State University, is recovering from knee surgery. He is expected to be out for another three weeks.

Altus travels to Lawton High tonight. The Bulldogs will host Lawton MacArthur next Tuesday.
