Altus committed six errors that led to six unearned runs, and the Bulldogs suffered a 9-6 district baseball loss to Duncan on Tuesday night at Duncan.
The Demons clinched fourth place in the district at 8-6 in their regular-season finale. Altus is 5-7 in district entering a makeup doubleheader Friday at Del City.
This result came less than 24 hours after Altus defeated Duncan, 15-14, in 12 innings Monday night at Kiwanis Park.
Duncan led Tuesday’s game 2-0 after an inning, but Altus tied it in the third. Duncan took a 3-2 lead in its half of the third, then scored four in the fourth for a 7-2 lead.
Jacob Kidwell was the losing pitcher, but he kept the Bulldogs in contention with a three-run homer in the fifth that brought the Bulldogs within 7-5.
McCrae Stephens and Jackson Herring went 2-for-3 for the Bulldogs, and Tito Jones, who delivered the winning hit Monday, went 2-for-4.
The Bulldogs, 14-18 overall, will close their regular season Friday with a makeup doubleheader at Del City.
