It was an easy win for the Western Oklahoma State College Pioneers against Southwest Collegiate Institute for the Deaf whose program is in it first year. The Pioneers won the game 96-23 here on Wednesday night.
Coach Rolando De La Berrera rested some of his regulars and used seven players in the game.
Michael Hawkins scored 21 points to lead the Pioneers with 21 points. Jean Toussant tallied 17 points while Najee Senior hit five three-point shots for 15 points. Then cam Shywan Spencer and Josh Torres with 13 points each and Julius Jecoy with 10 points.
Western is 3-0 on the season. The Pioneers will enter the Clarendon, Texas Invitational on Friday. They will play Northwest Kansas Tech at 6 p.m.
