Jackson County Commissioners approved a Detention Services Agreement with the Sac and Fox Nation Juvenile Detention Center on Monday, April 14, during their regular meeting along with other items on the agenda.
The agreement states that Jackson County will reimburse the detention center for provisions of juvenile retention services at a rate of $21.11 per day per child, an amount that represents 15 percent of the Office of Juvenile Affairs approved operational cost of detaining a child. The agreement was approved for FY July 1, 2014 to June 30, 2015.
Commissioners also approved minutes from the previous meeting, a report from the County Election Office, and purchase orders for the County Assessor’s Office and District 1. The Publication of Commissioners’ Proceedings for the month of March, and a Supplemental Appropriation for the Expo Center in the amount of $1,858 were also approved.
Commissioners re-appointed Mike Longone as Board Member to serve on the Friendship County Fire Department.
Commissioners also approved Resolutions for disposal of equipment as auctioned off at the Circuit Engineering District Auction held in March. Disposed items for District 1 include miscellaneous radios, a 2004 John Deer Tractor, a 1997 International Dump Truck, and a 1994 CPS Belly Dump Rock Trailer. Disposed items for District 3 include a 2001 John Deer Motor Grader and a 1997 Chevrolet 1-ton Flatbed Pickup.
During officer reports, County Treasurer Renee Howard reported on amounts collected by the Oklahoma Tax Commission for the month of February. The OTC collected $109,893 for County Sales Tax, $2,726.98 less than last month, $5,435 for County Tax Use, $2,113 less than last month, and $1,235 for the Cigarette Tax, up $34 from last month.
