The Red River Toastmasters Club of Altus will host their local International Speech Contest on March 1 at the Altus Public Library. The contest will begin promptly at 11 a.m. Contestants for the local Toastmaster Club will compete for a spot in the Area Speech Contest to be held in Altus on March 15.


The Red River Toastmaster Club welcomes all members of the community to come to this entertaining contest to cheer on the competitors and discover what Toastmasters is all about.


Toastmasters is an international, nonprofit educational organization that teaches public speaking and leadership skills. The purpose of the speech contests are to provide opportunities for speakers to challenge their speaking abilities, to provide learning opportunities for the audience by observing more proficient speakers, and to recognize the value in public speeking.
