Colston appointed Public Affairs Officer for NNN0ASA

Altus - Lloyd Colston, NNN0LAC, of Altus, has been selected as the Public Affairs Officer for the Navy-Marine Corp Military Auxiliary Radio System, according to Bo Lindfors, NNN0ASA, Chief MARS.
Colston, an experienced journalist, currently services the City of Altus as their emergency management director. He also is a licensed amateur radio operator, holding Advanced Class privileges from the Federal Communications Commission. He received his bachelors degree in journalism and Speech from Northeastern Oklahoma State University and has print and broadcast media experience.
“It is my pleasure to appoint him to this position,” said Lindfors. “He brings a lot of experience to this important post.”
In addition to this post, Colston also serves as the Oklahoma Section Public Information Officer with the American Radio Relay League and also enjoys membership with a number of amateur radio groups such as the Voice Over IP Weather Net and the Quarter Century Wireless Association.
In a related area, Colston also a digital volunteer with the American Red Cross and Humanity Road, a non-profit social media effort. He oversees the Oklahoma Virtual Operations Support Team as well as serves on the State Communications Committee.
