Failure to yield accident leads to two injured
At approximately 9:30 a.m. Monday, a personal injury collision happened on State Hwy 36 at State Hwy 5 junction in Tillman County.
According to reports from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, a 2006 Chevrolet pickup driven by Levi Krasser, 36, of Chattanooga,was north bound on State Hwy 36 and a 2008 Ford F150 pickup driven by John Goodknight, 74, of Faxon, was east bound on State Hwy 5. Goodknight failed to yield at the stop sign, and Krasser struck Goodknight in the passenger side door.
Krasser was taken by Comanche County EMS to Comanche County Memorial in Lawton where he was treated and released.
Goodknight was taken by Air Evac to the OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City where he was admitted in serious condition with head injuries.
There were no passengers.
Seatbelts were equipped but not in use by either driver. Airbags were equipped in both, and deployed in the Krasser vehicle.
The accident was investigated by Trooper Trent Short of the Tillman County detachment of Troop M, and was assisted by Lt. Thomas Pogue, Trooper Scott Hazle, Trooper Justin Garrison, Trooper Jimmy Wallace, the Tillman County Sheriff’s Department, the Frederick Fire Department, the Chattanooga Fire Department, Grandfield EMS, Comanche County EMS and Air Evac.
