According to Altus Police Chief Tim Murphy, Altus Police have arrested a man responsible for the armed robbery of the Holiday Inn Express that occurred on Sept. 20.

Kody Bratton, 23, of Altus, was identified from video footage provided to police by Holiday Inn Express personnel as the person who jumped over the counter, confronted the clerk, and demanded she open the cash drawer. Although no weapon was shown, the clerk believed the suspect had a gun in the front pocket of his hoodie.

After the robbery, Bratton jumped back over the counter and left through the front door and ran to the southwest from the hotel. An undetermined amount of cash was taken, and no injuries were reported.

Bratton, who was being held at the Jackson County Jail on unrelated charges, was interviewed and confessed to investigators about the robbery. Bratton will appear in Jackson County District Court for formal arraignment on the robbery complaint.
