The Jackson County Commissioners approved the publication of the Jackson County FY 2013-2014 budget, during their regular meeting held 9 a.m., Monday, Sept. 30. The budget will be published in the Altus Times on Wednesday, Oct. 2, for public review.
County Clerk Robin Booker stated there will be a 15-day public protest period once the budget is on file with the State Auditor’s office. District # 3 Commissioner Cary Carrell informed that the Auditor will meet with Commissioners either in November or December.
Commissioners approved a transfer of appropriations within the General Fund in the amount of $11,947.88 as a final payment toward the Hazard Mitigation Fund Program, to be reimbursed by FEMA. Commissioners also approved appropriations for the month of September.
Commissioners designated Regina Barney and Lori Austin as Receiving Officers for the Treasurer’s Office, and removed Angela Henig-Kidd as Receiving Officer.
Commissioners approved previous meetings minutes, and Booker presented a report from the Allocation of Alcoholic Beverage Tax for $9,263.04. County Treasurer Renee Howard reported that the Treasurer’s Office will be closed on Oct. 8-9, to attended a finance class in Norman. Blanket purchase orders were approved for the Sheriff’s Dept., Highway Dept., County Assessor’s Office, and County Clerk’ Office.
Under new business it was reported that Arthur King resigned as C0unty Road Hand, effective Sept. 30, and Excise Board member Rick Johnson’s resignation letter was read with an effective termination date of Friday, Sept. 27. According to the letter, Johnson resigned for personal reasons.
