The Shortgrass Arts Institute and the Altus Public Library are sponsoring two art workshops. Acrylics is scheduled for three evenings, Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, Sept. 23, 24 and 25, from 6 to 9 p.m. each evening. The second workshop is a mini workshop-Caricature Drawing using pens and pencils, is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 28 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Lyn Taylor, coordinator for the Institute, is the instructor for both workshops. The costs for the workshops are $30 for acrylics and $20 for caricature drawing. Both classes are for anyone over 16 years of age. Lyn will be teaching fundamentals in both workshops. The class is for anyone with a desire to learn how to use acrylics in the acrylics workshop or to draw fun caricatures in the mini-workshop on Saturday. Her workshops fill fast. Lyn brings a wealth of talent and education with her.
Her first workshop was so well received the Institute knew they had to have her back. Lynda’s education includes attending the Colorado Institute of Art in Visual Communications and Graphic Design, Cameron University and Southwestern State University. She has attended numerous seminars and workshops across the country with such noted artists as Doug Dawson and Ramon Killey. She is a member of the CPSA, Hawaii Watercolor Society. Lynda has also used her artistic talents to create illustrated brochures, designed ad campaigns, stationery and menus for restaurants in Honolulu and provided illustrations and brochures for technical seminars and products. Lynda also does freelance work for Hallmark.
