To celebrate “Homemade Happiness”, the theme of 2013 National Assisted Living Week, Tamarack LPN and nurse manager, Nicole Cook’s mom and dad, Leah and Dana Andrews brought in buckets of different varieties of home-grown tomatoes from their eastern Oklahoma garden for Tamarack residents and staff to enjoy. They also donated over 100 videos to Tamarack Assisted Living’s library. Pictured with tomatoes and videos are Leah Andrews, Katie Long, Janice Bailey, Nicole Cook, Thelma Weems, and Dana Andrews. 2013 National Assisted Living Week
NALW was established in 1995 by the National Center for Assisted Living to provide a special opportunity to bring together residents, families, employees, volunteers, and the surrounding community to celebrate residents and the services provided by the staff within assisted living communities. Every year, the week-long celebration begins on Grandparent’s Day.
“Homemade Happiness” events, Sept. 8-14, help us to say “thank you” to our assisted living residents, many of whom have made significant contributions to Southwest Oklahoma as business people, civic leaders, farmers, ranchers, teachers, parents, and grandparents.
