Free prom dresses, tuxedos, shoes, and apparel are now available for a limited time at Mission On Wheels, located at 213 W. Walnut in Altus. Prom dresses will be given away the next two Fridays: April 18, and April 25, from 4 to 6 p.m. This is third year the non-profit organization has been helping students attend prom in style at no cost.

This year they have over 250 dresses to choose from, of which 97 were donated by the clothing store Broadway Fashionista, located at 121 E. Broadway in Altus.

“I usually donate something to them every year,” said Broadway Fashionista owner Karen Brumgard. “Sometimes it’s casual wear. Sometimes it’s formal. But this year we bought a lot more dresses.” Brumgard said that the dresses originally cost $300 each on average.
