Board of education calls regular meeting


Full agenda promised to make for an interesting evening

There is a board of education meeting scheduled for 5 p.m. Monday at the administration center in the board conference room.

The meeting is slated to begin with a roll call, pledge of allegiance and then members of the public will be allowed to speak and address any concerns that they may have.

Award recipients will then be recognized.

“We are excited to present our FFA degree recipients and our four-time state champion shooter sports team to our Board of Education on Monday night,” said Amanda Davis, public relations specialist at Altus High School.

The board plans to recognize and honor the 2016 teacher of the year. The junior class of 2016 is to present a chandelier they donated to the Altus High School cafeteria.

Discussing the status of treasury, budget expenditures, activity funds, and cafeteria funds is also on the agenda.

The board is scheduled to take action to accept retirements and resignations, and also decide whether or not to the reassignment of district personnel includes a change in salary.

Other items on the agenda include whether or not to approve the funds for a new roof for Sunset Elementary School and whether or not to approve parking lot renovations for Altus Primary School.

The board plans to discuss, make motions, or vote on the above-mentioned items as well as other issues. The agenda was posted on May 5.
