There will be a preseason wheat meeting 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Jackson County Oklahoma State University Extension Office on the north side of the Western Oklahoma State College campus.
Topics covered will be early season wheat management, seed treatment and herbicide options, projected wheat budgets, and stocker and cow or calf feeding programs with wheat pasture.
Speakers scheduled are Heath Sanders, Southwest District Area agronomy specialist; Marty New, Southwest District Area livestock specialist, Gary Strickland, Jackson and Greer County’s Agriculture Extension educator and Southwest Regional Education Center Dryland Cropping Systems specialist.
There will be a free sponsored meal served during this meeting. Preregistration is requested, but not required, by noon Monday to assist with meal counts. This should be an informative meeting for area agriculture producers. For more information call 580-482-0823.
