Instruments, other items stolen from church

A local church has been burglarized of musical instruments and other items. According to reports from Altus Police, the Altus Church of God, located at 900 S. Park Lane, was the victim of the burglary.

Deputy Chief Bill Perkins said that the burglary took place sometime between 9:30 p.m. on Sunday, and 6 p.m. Wednesday.

Taken were several musical instruments including three guitars and amps, a drum set, and a keyboard, as well as guitar stands, cordless microphones and chargers, two televisions, and a microwave. Personal items beloinging to both the church and church members were also reported as being missing. The estimated value of the stolen items total around $8,000.

Perkins said that there is no sign of forced entry and no witnesses to the crime were reported. The incident is still under investigation, and the police are still processing the scene today.
