Are you looking for a way to promote your small business while connecting with other small business owners in the process? “Business Connections” is a free quarterly business breakfast and workshop for business owners, professionals, and small business resource partners. “Business Connections” will meet Wednesday, Sept. 9 from 7:45 to 9 a.m. at the Southwest Technology Center, 711 West Tamarack Road in Altus. Breakfast will be provided by Whataburger and there is no registration fee. If you are interested in attending, please register online at www.reiwbc.org.

This unique business-building event, sponsored by Stockmans Bank – Altus, offers participants an opportunity to market their services through interactive discussions and learn helpful business tips from local resource providers. It’s also a great time to exchange business cards. Breakfast sponsorships are available which allow you a chance to highlight your business to those in attendance.

September’s session will cover “Leading Outside the Circle”.Leaders help themselves and others to do the right things. They set direction, build an inspiring vision, and create something new. Leadership is about mapping out where you need to go to “win” as a team or an organization; and it is dynamic, exciting, and inspiring. In order to become successful in any competitive marketplace, it is absolutely necessary to ensure that you have Leadership Skills.

The presenter will be Meegan Mackay, founder of Artes pro Vita Academy. Meegan has a Masters from Johns Hopkins University and 25 years’ experience working in the financial and government sectors. She’s repossessed cars for GMAC and sold stock and bonds during the dotcom boom. She has a Top Secret Clearance and is a certified Interrogator with the Department of Defense. Meegan is also a pilot and scuba dive master.

“Business Connections is the perfect event for business owners to attend,” said Jennifer Edwards, REI Women’s Business Center Coordinator. “You have the chance to visit with other business owners and share ideas, all while enjoying breakfast together – it’s a win/win situation. Whether your business is prospective, new, or well-established, this event is for you!”

Event partners include Southwest Technology Center, Altus Area Chamber of Commerce, Main Street Altus, Small Business Development Center and REI Women’s Business Center, funded in part by the U.S. Small Business Administration.
