The Altus Chamber of Commerce is undertaking a number of efforts to encourage shoppers in this area to “Shop Altus First!” This includes upcoming advertising and informational campaigns about the benefits of shopping local as well as some new efforts to attract shoppers from other areas to see all that Altus merchants have to offer. An important part of those efforts is the Crazy Days shopping event, and it is just around the corner.
Crazy Days will start Friday, July 31, and continue through Saturday, Aug. 1, and even into Sunday, Aug. 2, in some cases. Local business owners offer incredible sales and specials during this time, and it is a great way to save money while supporting local merchants. Chamber CEO Brian Bush says the deals are too good to pass up, and the impact on the local economy from shopping here in Altus makes it a win-win. “We have some of the most unique and amazing stores in our community, and the revenue they generate benefits Altus by providing jobs, increasing the quality of life, improving sales tax collections for city services, and much more,” said Bush, “These business owners have been investing in Altus for years, and they support our local programs through donations and sponsorships as well.”
Shoppers can expect a wide variety of sales and specials throughout the Crazy Days weekend all over Altus during Crazy Days. For more information, contact the Altus Chamber at 580-482-0210, or ask your favorite retailer. Bush said the Chamber is committed to spreading the word about our local businesses and growing the local economy, but he also added that shopping local and taking advantage of the deals during Crazy Days is “just plain fun” too.
So grab a friend, and shop til you drop – as long as you’re shopping local, of course.
