Local students attend Band Camp


Southwestern Oklahoma State University’s 60th annual band camp brought a record 559 students from five states to the Weatherford campus on July 12-17. Camp director Keith Talley said the students auditioned for placement in one of six concert bands and participated in rehearsals as well as a variety of recreational activities. The camp ended with a final concert featuring all six bands. Among the students attending the camp from Altus were (front row from left): Rachel Scott, Michael Finstad, Mark Dodson, John Purdue, Emily Watson, Amy Phan, Leticia Castro, Kimberly Monrrigo, Cheyenne Berenz and Mikayla Bush. Back from left—Grace Hansen, Kayla Miller, Ashlynn Schipper, Amanda Bacon, Braden Mietzner, Timothy Kime, Ethan Cole, Chris Wolfe, Trevor Busby and Joshua Finley.
