Matt Moran has been named publisher of the Altus Times.
He succeeds Denny Koenders who accepted a position in June of this year as the publisher of Civitas Media’s Sedalia Democrat newspaper in Sedalia, Mo.
Moran, who grew up in Altus and graduated from Altus High School and Western Oklahoma State College, has worked for the Altus Times before as an advertising sales representative. He continued his newspaper career with the Norman Transcript, but recently moved back to the area with his wife and children, and looks forward to his new position with the company.
“I’m glad to be back home,” said Moran. “I look forward to serving the Altus community. I also look forward to becoming a part of the newspaper’s history.”
Moran was actively involved with the Kiwanis Club while living in Altus before, and is anxious to join the group again.
Moran and his wife Kaley have three children, Kennedy, age 5, Elijah, age 3, and Clementine, age 7 months.
The announcement was made by Civitas Media’s CEO Ralph Martin, who congratulated Moran on his new role and wished him and his family great success in his new position with the Times.
