Police are investigating a burglary at the City of Altus cemetery office and workshop building.
“We believe the burglary occurred sometime on Friday night July 15,” Altus Police Chief Tim Murphy said.
An employee notified the police shortly after 9 a.m. Saturday. The suspect or suspects gained entry into the building by prying open a door, that led into the workshop area.
According to a cemetery employee, the suspect or suspects pulled the garage door release cord and broke it.
Items stolen included a John Deere Gator, Dewalt portable air compressor, a five-gallon water cooler and a 12-foot flatbed trailer that was attached to a City of Altus truck.
According to the report, no other items were missing and no vandalism was reported.
