Health department funded

The Jackson County Commissioners met Monday morning for their regular weekly meeting.

Approval was given on the contract between the Jackson County Health Department or JCHD and George Brothers Pest Control for pest control services for the fiscal year 2007 from July 1, 2016 through June 30, 2017, at a monthly cost of $60.

Transportation for health services Monday through Friday within Jackson County to and from Altus for cities of Blair, Duke, Eldorado, Olustee, Martha, Elmer and Headrick, effective July 1, 2016 to June 30, 2017 was approved through a supplemental agreement between Southwest Oklahoma Community Action Group Inc. and the JCHD.

X-ray services for the JCHD for the screening , diagnosis, and for monitoring of tuberculosis was approved, for fiscal year 2007 with the services provided by the Jackson County Memorial Hospital.

The following services and contracts for the JCHD for fiscal year 2007 were also approved:

* Contract between Verizon Wireless for four cellphones and two IPads,

* Rental agreement from Standley Smart for three copiers,

* Lease agreement between Pitney Bowes for DM225 digital mailing system,

* Agreement for Medivista Media LLD, for rental of media player computer and

* Monthly subscription to EverwellPlus private TV network services.

JCHD requisitioning officers Dan Forester and Danette Rivas, along with receiving officers Russell Monzell and Emily Johnson were approved, effective July 1.

Approval was given on renewing participation in the buyboard national purchasing cooperative for fiscal year 2017 along with the Jackson County Expo Center lease agreement renewal option between the Jackson County Commissioners and the Altus Southwest Economic Development Corporation.

Commissioners agreed on a one time payment to participate in the ACCO-SIG or, self-insured group, property and liability policy and resolution to execute the agreement establishing the Association of County Commissioners of Oklahoma SIG for fiscal year 2017.

The detention services agreement by and between the Muskogee County Regional Juvenile Detention Center and the Board of County Commissioners of Jackson County for detention services at the Muskogee County Regional Juvenile Detention Center at a rate of $23.27 per child per day was approved for fiscal year 2007.

Due to the recent flood damage, bids will be sought for removal of all furniture and equipment in the courthouse offices of court reporter, bogus check office, east one-third of the court clerk’s office and D.A.’s office; take up old carpet and subflooring; replace subflooring and carpet and return all furniture and equipment to offices.

Requisitioning Officer Helen Holcombe and receiving officers Gail Allen and Jennifer Sunday were approved for the county clerk’s office for fiscal year 2017. Mary Vernon was re-appointed to the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) District of Jackson County Board of Trustees for a five-year term beginning with fiscal year 2017.

Approval was given for bid openings on road, bridge materials and tires except for truck tire bids for July 1 to December 31.

The meeting was adjourned with no new business or claims.
