A community relations officer will be in Altus on Tuesday to answer questions about how immigrants to the United States can become citizens.

* When can an immigrant become a U.S. citizen?

* What requirements are necessary to become a naturalized American?

* Does this process require fees?

These are some of the questions about U.S. citizenship to be discussed by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Community Relations Officer Jesus Ramirez from the regional office in Dallas.

He is scheduled to hold a presentation titled “Naturalization information 101 in English” in the Altus Public Library at 3 p.m. Tuesday in English and the give the same information at the same location at 7 p.m. in Spanish.

The Great Plains Literacy Council and the Southern Prairie Library System is slated to host this citizenship program on Tuesday. The informative meeting will focus on questions often asked by resident aliens and their families. There is no cost to attend.
