An assault case investigated this week has been suspended and will be closed, officials said Friday.
According to records, 3:21 p.m. Tuesday, the Altus Police Department received a 911 call from a resident on Debby Street that her neighbor was at her house bleeding and that the neighbor said someone had kicked in her door.
Police said the alleged victim reported an unknown black male had assaulted her and the victim did have substantial wounds on her body. She was taken to the Jackson County Memorial Hospital for treatment.
On Friday, police Detective Colby Earls said, “Per the victim’s request, the investigation is being suspended until further notice and everything has been documented and the case will be closed.”
According to Earls, “suspended” means that the case can be reopened.
There were no affidavits for arrest and no searches performed, police said.
