Off the Wall Dance Productions will host a dance performance Saturday at the Altus City Auditorium.

The event will feature local dancers from three- to 18-years-old to showcase ballet, tap, jazz, musical theatre, hip hop, contemporary and pointe dance genres.

Off the Wall Dancers have been successful under the direction of nationally recognized award winning choreographer and instructor Leah Wall.

Most recently, they brought home 17 medals — three gold, 11 high gold and three platinum — from a Celebration Talent competition in Amarillo, Texas in April.

The group also won Life of the Party award given to the studio with the best backstage etiquette, overall professionalism and most supportive of other teams.

The award is chosen by votes from backstage crews, judges and support staff.

The dancers perform as soloists, duos, trios, small groups and large groups. There are also age groups categories called Rubies for ages 5 to 7, Emeralds for ages 8 to 11 and Diamonds 12 to 18.

Dancers are required to audition once a year every summer to stay in a particular level.

Saturday’s dance recital will benefit Sheridan’s Sunshine Foundation, in memory of dancer Sheridan Nicole Bautista who was a dancer at Off the Wall Productions and had a short battle with cancer.
