Altus Police are investigating a possible gang-related shooting that left two men injured.
According to Altus Police Chief Tim Murphy, police were originally called to the 600 block of W. Walker shortly after 3 p.m. on Tuesday, April 12 to investigate a shots fired call. That led police to the 600 block of W. Hardy, one block north of the original Walker Street call.
“Investigators found blood evidence at a house located at 608 W. Hardy,” said Murphy. “During this time, police were notified by personnel at Jackson County Memorial Hospital that two men had entered the emergency room with gunshot wounds.”
Murphy said that one man had been shot in the abdomen and the other in the arm. The injuries were considered non-life threatening. Both men refused to cooperate in the investigation, and police believe the shooting to be gang related.
Altus police continue their investigation into this shooting.
