Several close out documents, as well as SWODA Rural Economic Action Plan (REAP) contracts were acted on at this week’s Jackson County Commissioners meeting.
Approved contracts included the Friendship Fire Department in the amount of $41,627, the Rural Fire Chiefs Association in the amount of $23,681, and the Warren Fire Department in the amount of $43,650.
The Altus Christian Fellowship was granted the request to use the north parking lot and grass area of the downtown courthouse on Saturday April 9 for a children’s outdoor game area. ACF would be responsible for setting up and cleaning after the event, as well as have a security team on site.
Commissioner Kirk Butler said all County employees are invited to the State Capitol on Tuesday, April 12 for County Government Day. He also mentioned that the Stephen E Booker Child Advocacy Center Benefit Brisket Dinner and Auction will be held on Friday, April 15 at 5 p.m. at the Altus Community Center, as well as the 5K Family Fun Run on Saturday morning at 8 a.m. at the Altus Reservoir. He added that T-shirts were available for sale.
