Red River Toastmaster Marty Vincent was recently recognized for completion of projects designed to enhance her skills as an Advanced Communicator.

She earned her Advanced Communicator Silver Award by completing a series of 30 speeches. After completing 10 speeches, she become a Competent Communicator and then completed 10 more speeches to earn her Advanced Communicator Bronze. This past year, Marty has worked hard to prepare and present 10 additional speeches to earn her Advanced Communicator Silver. The Advanced Communicator series of speaking assignments is designed to continuously take members to the next level of public speaking and communication.

Marty Vincent has been a Toastmaster since 2011 and is the immediate past President of the Red River club. Prior to that, she served for many years as the club Treasurer and as Sergeant-at-Arms for two years. In addition, Marty is a member of Toastmasters Amplified which is an advanced club that meets once a month in Lawton. Marty also served as the immediate past Area K-2 Governor (serving two years) which encompassed the Red River Club, Chisholm Trail in Duncan and Satanta and Talkin’ Lawton clubs in Lawton. Currently, Marty is the Division A Director which covers 3 Areas and 12 clubs across the state. As she has advanced through the Toastmasters program, Marty continuously recommends Toastmasters to everyone she meets. Anyone who knows Marty will hear her say, “it took me 56 years to find my voice and nobody should have to wait that long” and credits the Toastmasters organization for her growth as a person, a leader and as a speaker.

Marty is originally from the Oregon coast. She has been married for 32 years and has three children and six grandchildren. Marty currently works at the local Walmart and is a huge animal lover. Unfortunately for her Toastmasters family, she will be moving back to Oregon to be closer to family. Even so, she plans to continue her advancement in Toastmasters and share her passion for communication and public speaking with others and of course, visit her favorite club here in Altus as often as possible.

The Red River Toastmasters Club holds meetings each Tuesday at the Southwest Technology Center from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Guests are encouraged to attend.
