Altus Police are continuing their search for a man wanted in connection with a drive by shooting that took place on Jan. 27 in the 600 block Of N. Julian at around 1:45 p.m.
According to Altus Police Chief Tim Murphy, witnesses told police the suspect fired gunshots from a four-door gray Pontiac.
“A vehicle parked in the driveway of 621 N. Julian received damage from the gunfire and investigators recovered bullet fragments from inside the trunk of that vehicle,” said Murphy.
Investigators have submitted the case to the Jackson County District Attorney’s Office and an arrest warrant was issued for Jervon Ikeem Carruthers, 21, on charges of Use of a Vehicle in Discharging a Weapon. Carruthers also has outstanding arrest warrants for Motion to Revoke a Suspended Sentence and Motion to Accelerate a Deferred Sentence, unrelated to the shooting incident.
Carruthers is 5’ 6” tall, weighs approximately 170 pounds, and is considered armed and dangerous.
