Southwest Tax & Bookkeeping Inc., at 812 East Broadway, is a new member of the Altus Chamber of Commerce. Justin Ducharme is an Enrolled Agent and the owner.

Ducharme continues the firm that began in the 1950s under the leadership of Mr. Scott Quigley, C.P.A. Mr. Quigley was located in an office space at the NBC building for 40 years until January 1, 1994. At Quigley’s retirement, he sold the business to his employee, Roxie Hensley. Ms. Hensley renamed the business Hensley Bookkeeping & Tax Service and relocated to the current location at 812 E Broadway. Ducharme explained that even though 60 years has passed, he still has some of the same clients as Mr. Quigley.

Ducharme passed the three part EA exam and took over the business in January of 2015. An Enrolled Agent, just like attorneys and CPAs, has unrestricted representation rights with the IRS. Enrolled Agents are awarded their rights directly by the IRS. The Enrolled Agent is the highest credential the IRS awards. Ducharme is a 2003 graduate of Altus High School. He received an Associate’s degree from Western Oklahoma State College in 2005 and a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Oklahoma State University in 2007.
